Who are you? And what do you do?
My names Piran Aston, I work as an artist manager for three bands called The Lounge Society, Idle Hours and Loose Articles! I also work as a freelance photographer and I’ve worked with Heavenly Records, YALA, Working Men’s Club, YES, Gorilla and Deaf Institute!
What have you been doing during lockdown?
I’ve started cooking a lot more since Lockdown 1, going for a lot of walks too which has been really nice. Explored a lot of Manchester’s canals over the spring and summer!
I spent a lot of time re editing photos and working with the bands I manage and that’s been great too. Lots of progress and really proud of all the bands I work with.
A weird and wonderful fact about you that not many people would expect: I sometimes eat oxo cubes striaght out the packet, just nibble on them. I hope I don’t get cancelled for this…
How do you think an eel would react to your playlist takeover?
Probably slipping and sliding all over the place to the CAN and Roisin Murphy tunes. I’d like to join the eel for a boogie!
Who you wish you could have put on this playlist but hasn’t released music recently?
Way too many artists. Gang Of Four, The Chameleons, Kate Bush… my dads old techno stuff from the 90’s as well! Paranonia, check it out, there’s a lot I could’ve picked that could’ve gone in!
